Most people only dream of adventure. But I’ve lived through several. Let me tell you this, adventures can be mighty challenging! For instance, I once had to fight a year-long battle to save my husband’s life from corrupt men who tried to destroy him. At first, I thought,” I cannot do this!” My husband said, “Sheri, they’re going to destroy me. You stay out of this fight, for the sake of our children. One of us has to survive.”

But I could not let my husband fight alone. I secretly fought for him and finally saved him, though the odds were totally against me. It was a David vs. Goliath battle, some might say. I’d call it David’s wife vs. Goliath, for I am small and speak softly. Nobody recognized the power of love that drove me into this battle and helped me win. (See Amazon book number 1495355675 entitled One Step Ahead of the Devil, written under the pen name S. M. Hausen.) This story was once on ABC’s 20/20 with Sam Donaldson, who affirmed the truth of this battle.

After Tim was safe, we moved to Montana, where we lived high in the Rocky Mountains near the Continental Divide. There we were surrounded by bears, mountain lions, moose, elk, and many other wild creatures, much to my delight. We shoveled mountains of snow. We were evacuated because of wildfires twice. I enjoy writing about life in settings such as we experienced in Montana, not far from Yellowstone.

For many years, I have also written for and taught children and young people at our church. From this wellspring of experience, I have written two books about Jesus, one for children and one for young people. I have provided fun classes for children under Walk-The-Talk Island, and an audio version of my young people’s book, God? Where Are You?
